MC2 Architects was hired to provide the master planning, architecture, and building shells for a three acre site on Beltway 8. The owners are two doctors who wanted medical condominiums for their own practices and for resale to other small private practices. The program also called for 10,000 square feet of commercial lease space along the Beltway 8 feeder road.
MC2’s design distributes 15 medical units into a series of 9 small buildings separated by intimate gardens. This approach allows the units to be easily subdivided into exam rooms, each with garden views, and abundant natural light through clerestory windows. The architectural language of interlocking planes express the process of the tilt-up concrete construction.
